Rev. Dr. Samuel E. Trusty, Senior Pastor/Teacher & First Lady Shalice
Dr. Samuel E. Trusty, Sr. is a native of Englewood, New Jersey. He is the husband of Shalice J. Trusty, and father of Tanisha, Samuel I., and Joshua D. Trusty.
Dr. Trusty acknowledged his call to the ministry in 1988. He was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ by Dr. Lester W. Taylor, Jr. At Community Baptist Church of Englewood, New Jersey Dec 26th 1997. He was ordained by the Permanent Council of the North Jersey District Missionary Baptist Association Dec 6th 2003. He was called to pastorate by Loyal Baptist Church of Bronx, New York Oct 8th 2005.
Dr. Trusty holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration-Management. He graduated with honors and holds a Master’s of Science degree. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry in Christian Counseling. His dissertation is titled “A Christian Approach to Counseling the African-American Community.”
Dr. Trusty is a Certified Teacher for the Empire Baptist Congress of Christian Education of New York. He is a Teacher for the United Missionary Baptist Association of New York. He serves on the Commission on Evangelism for the United Missionary Baptist Association of New York.
Dr. Trusty served at the Church of God in Christ of Englewood, New Jersey as youth leader. He served as the President of the Association of Black Seminarians and as Pulpit Supply Preacher at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Currently is a sought after preacher, revivalist, workshop and seminar presenter.
Dr. Trusty served on the Ordination Council for the Little Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Bronx New York, ordaining seven ministers. He licensed Minister Fannie Liburd, Dana Christmas-McCain, and Theresa Buckner to preach the Gospel at the Loyal Baptist Church.
Dr. Trusty is a dynamic preacher/teacher. He believes that effective service flows from one’s personal walk with Jesus Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. His personal desire is to walk with God and serve people through faithfully loving, lifting, and leading them.
Dr. Trusty is a partner with New York Theological Seminary as a Site Supervisor affording several of NYTS interns the opportunity to further their seminary education through practical application in ministry.
Dr. Trusty is the recipient of the Holland Thomas Award on behalf of the United Missionary Baptist Association Laymen’s Auxiliary.
Dr. Trusty is on his way to becoming an accomplished writer. You can expect in early 2014 such published titles as, “The Seven Churches You Should Know,” “The Dynamics of Discipleship,” “The Evangelistic Approach,” and “The Promises from Abraham to Christ Concerning You.”
Dr. Trusty will be honored for his years of dedicated hard work in the ministry by receiving a Doctorate of Divinity on behalf of St. Thomas Christian University on April 14'. In his continuance commitment of offering a quality Christian education, Dr. Trusty will be partnering with St. Thomas where Loyal Baptist Church will become an extension campus as a part of the St. Thomas Christian College Satellite Campus program.
Dr. Trusty’s life Scripture is Romans 1:16-17, ”16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth…17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
